I love to tell stories through my pieces, hiding symbolic numbers and images throughout. I mix high impact graphics with subtle storytelling when creating a new painting and want it to reveal something new every time you look at them.
By mixing unique subjects into unrealistic situations, I create innovative perspectives and creative results. The combination of painting and woodworking enhances my physical connection too all of my pieces. The mix of 3-D as well as the fantastical vision and historical references create a graphic and colorful composition. When people see my work, I’d like them to be emotionally and physically drawn in, to want to touch and explore the piece. I want my viewers to fee immersed into my piece if possible. Creating action and drama all together will hopefully feel like an experience.
The use of tissue papers as my color give my pieces a reflective quality which adds a feeling of depth. The colors play a new part, working together with light as if its a window. I always find new and exciting colors during my process, I love to explore and discover new ideas.
